Loading dishes shouldn't require unnecessary bending.
Helping people remain comfortable in the kitchens they already love.
Accessibility should be built into everyday products.
No remodel. No lifestyle change. Just a more comfortable way to load the dishwasher.
Why It Matters
Lower-rack loading can create real strain for older adults, family caregivers, people recovering from surgery, and individuals with mobility challenges. Yet most dishwashers were not designed around those everyday realities.
We believe everyday products should adapt to people, not force people to adapt to them.
That belief became the foundation of E-Z Lift Appliances™.
About the Founder
E-Z Lift Appliances™ began with a simple observation.
After back surgery, my grandmother struggled with everyday kitchen tasks that many people take for granted. One of the biggest challenges was unloading the lower rack of her dishwasher. What had once been routine suddenly required painful bending and strain.
As I watched her adapt to these limitations, I began asking a simple question:
Why are so many household products designed without accessibility in mind?
Vision
My vision is to create a future where kitchens are engineered around people, not the other way around. A future where aging in place is easier, independence lasts longer, and everyday tasks remain accessible regardless of age or mobility.
The E-Z Lift Dishrack™ is the first product in our broader mission to develop accessibility-focused appliance solutions for everyday homes.
While the product is still in development, the mission remains the same: helping people maintain independence, dignity, and comfort in their own homes.
This isn't just about dishwashers. We are building a kitchen engineered around you.
"I didn't set out to build a dishwasher product. I set out to solve a problem I saw someone I love struggling with."
— Michael Morrone, Founder
Real-World Testing & Feedback
E-Z Lift Appliances™ is developing the E-Z Lift Dishrack™ through hands-on prototype demonstrations, professional input, and direct feedback from potential users. Each demonstration helps E-Z Lift Appliances™ better understand user needs, evaluate the product experience, and guide continued development before production.
In July 2026, E-Z Lift Appliances™ completed its first structured community demonstration at a Southeast Michigan senior living community. Residents interacted with the E-Z Lift Dishrack™ prototype and provided feedback about their current dishwasher experience, the ease of loading and unloading dishes, the amount of bending required, and their overall interest in the product.
12 senior living residents interacted with the E-Z Lift Dishrack™ prototype and completed a pre- and post-demonstration survey.
The Issue at Hand
Reported experiencing discomfort, strain, or inconvenience when loading or unloading the lower dishwasher rack.
After interacting with the E-Z Lift Dishrack™ prototype
Said loading and unloading dishes was easier or much easier with the E-Z Lift Dishrack™ prototype.
Said the E-Z Lift Dishrack™ prototype reduced the amount of bending required.
* 8/12 residents said the amount of bending required was reduced significantly.
Overall Resident Response
Were likely or very likely to use a product like the E-Z Lift Dishrack™.
Said they would recommend a product like the E-Z Lift Dishrack™.
“As a caregiver for 22 years, it has always been my goal to give and allow my clients to retain as much independence as possible. The E-Z Lift Dishrack™ would allow that, and that, to me, speaks volumes! The rack itself is amazing. But for a group who often feels forgotten, this is absolutely amazing. To provide them with more independence, but also lessen the risk of a possible injury, absolutely speaks volumes to a very fragile population.”
— Caregiver with 20+ years of experience
The initial results reinforce the need for a more accessible approach to loading and unloading the lower dishwasher rack. Most participating residents reported that the E-Z Lift Dishrack™ prototype made the task easier and reduced the amount of bending required. The demonstration also produced meaningful early interest in using and recommending a product like the E-Z Lift Dishrack™.
Continuing to evaluate how clearly and intuitively users interact with the E-Z Lift Dishrack™.
Considering feedback related to reach, bending, movement, and everyday kitchen use.
Evaluating how users experience the movement, stability, and operation of the E-Z Lift Dishrack™ prototype.
Continuing to explore different dishwasher configurations and user needs.
Preliminary findings are based on self-reported feedback from 12 residents who participated in one senior living community prototype demonstration. These results reflect the experiences of the participating residents and are not clinical findings or necessarily representative of the broader population. The E-Z Lift Dishrack™ remains in prototype development, and additional testing is planned.
E-Z Lift Appliances™ welcomes conversations with senior living communities, occupational therapy professionals, accessibility organizations, and other groups interested in hosting a future demonstration or providing product feedback.
